AT&T has said that it plans to re-brand Cingular Wireless under the name AT&T, beginning 2007.  At stake is how AT&T can avoid customer confusion over its name and forge separate identities for its various services and whether the corporation can successfully replace the Cingular brand, associated with youth and vitality, with the AT&T brand, associated with traditionalism and conservatism.  Some considerations discussed will be issues corporations should take into account when successfully launching a re-branding effort.
